Client-centered Design and Architecture
Still Point Architecture is Committed to Delivering What You Want
Client-centered and -directed design is at the heart of what we do at Still Point Architecture. We begin by asking what you want, and listening to what you say (not by telling you what you’ll get).
The design and building of your home or property is often a significant event in your life. Your dreams and needs need to be carefully documented and understood. We recognize that you have unique needs and specific aesthetic preferences. In each project your ‘wish-list’ is assessed and the opportunities and constraints presented by the site are carefully analyzed.
Typically, a project specific ‘design manual’ is produced and this becomes the guiding document for the project. Client-centered design evolves to create a careful marriage of all factors ensuring a good ‘fit’ – both between building and site as well as between owners and building.
Sustainable House Design Ideas and Solutions
The use of natural materials (recycled where possible) is central to the design of many of our homes. Exposed timberwork is often employed in our belief that the ‘bones’ of the building are part of its inherent beauty. Light is a constant theme and we believe that natural light playing into the interior is critical to a project’s success.
With a background in construction, along with many years experience as a West Coast building architect, Drew Rose can effectively establish an open dialogue with the builder, both through detailed construction drawings and visits to the site. The smooth transition from one stage to the next – from concepts to working drawings and on through construction – is a characteristic of all our projects and reflects our commitment to you.
